Approximately 25% of the AP Computer Science Exam references the GridWorld Case Study. Portions of GridWorld, such as the Grid interface and the Critter class, have consistently been featured extensively on past exams. For example, students have often been asked to adhere to the postconditions of Critter methods while accomplishing a given task.
Each student is provided with a Quick Reference to use during the AP CS Exam. Familiarity with this resource is essential for success on GridWorld questions and is important for much of the rest of the exam. To make effective use of the Quick Reference, students must understand what it provides and how to take advantage of it. Students must understand the purpose of each GridWorld class since time constraints are unlikely to allow a student to read the entire Quick Reference during the exam.
