I found some photographs of an accident in October 2004 in which my Ranger was struck by a Mustang. The driver of the Mustang attempted to turn off a major road and instead drove over a curb, over a lawn, and into my Ranger. My Ranger had been parked in the driveway for less than 5 minutes while I unloaded mountain bikes. The impact was at a high enough speed that the Mustang’s airbags deployed and my Ranger was pushed several feet. No one was injured.

Wow…the way you described it it sounded like your car took no damage…sounds like its a tank lol
Hi
I just got into the same type of accident, and I’m wondering how much damage did this wheel cause to the frame? I’m just curious.
There was no detectable frame damage. There were a couple of parts that required replacement, but they were all right at that wheel. I can scan in the invoice if it would help. The most annoying part was that the hub assembly (including ABS sensor) failed years later on that wheel. I’ll never know if it failed as a result of the accident. That cost me about $400.
After the repairs, the truck drove the same as it did before the accident. Today, it still drives straight, turns correctly, etc. Your situation may be different if your vehicle was struck with greater force or if it has a lighter frame or a unibody.
Thank you :) I have a 2009 Dodge Caliber, and got struck by a honda civic while I was leaving a parking lot.. I was going maybe 20km/h while the other car was going 70-80km/h (her airbags did not deploy). It hit my rear wheel and a bit of my back bumper… you’re the only photo I’ve found that looks almost exactly to mine (the bent wheel, that is) and since it happened on Friday, I won’t know about the frame/axel damage until tomorrow. thanks again!
hey, i have a car im buying that has the same wheel bent inwards. except on the passenger side. What was all done to fix the wheel? new tie rod, bushings, etc???
I sent a scan of the relevant page from the insurance adjustment to the email you provided. Let me know if you didn’t get it.
Hey Mr. Horn. All I can say is holy **** what an accident. Hope life’s going well.
