Washing a vehicle

If you wash a vehicle poorly, you may leave missed dirt, water spots, circular marks on the paint, or even scratches. These can be difficult and expensive to repair.

The advice below is intended for those with little experience washing vehicles. A professional may use specialized equipment or different techniques. If you use equipment or techniques that you do not fully understand, you may end up with a very poor result.

Free speech at school

I have heard students defend their inappropriate behavior in school by claiming that it is protected by “freedom of speech” or “freedom of expression.” When asked to elaborate, most students are unable to do so clearly and accurately.

In the Tinker v. Des Moines case, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that students have rights to freedom of speech and expression in public schools. Schools cannot prohibit a student from expressing an opinion merely “to avoid the discomfort and unpleasantness that always accompany an unpopular viewpoint.”

Does this mean that students can say whatever they want whenever they want?

Koi near the surface at Dutch Springs

My brother Garret and I dove at Dutch Springs in Bethlehem, PA on Tuesday, June 23. Here are a few photos from the trip.

We encountered the koi only a few feet from the surface on our last dive of the day. For those familiar with Dutch Springs, we were in the pump house area.

The koi was approximately 4 feet long and at least 4 inches in diameter. It was very curious and approached us several times. Garret and I were both able to touch it. I touched its head a few times. Garret touched its tail and actually rubbed its belly.
